La fabricaci\u00f3n de <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Temari_(toy)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">temari<\/a> es una artesan\u00eda de origen japon\u00e9s; Carolyn empez\u00f3 a hacer temari geom\u00e9tricos hace muchos a\u00f1os, destacando grupos especiales de simetr\u00eda. Mientras trabajaba en la instalaci\u00f3n de Mathemalchemy, ense\u00f1\u00f3 a Ingrid y Kathy.   <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En principio, tanto el Arco Divergente como el Convergente tienen un n\u00famero infinito de bolas. Este t\u00fanel central se forr\u00f3 con un popote de pl\u00e1stico de 1\/8&#8243; de ancho, para proteger la espuma de poliestireno del interior, de modo que no empezara a desintegrarse tras repetidas instalaciones. Alrededor de este n\u00facleo, se envolvi\u00f3 primero una capa de hilo, de al menos 1\/4&#8243; de grosor, para poder coser las bolas.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow la fabricaci\u00f3n no pasaba de esta etapa <em>mari<\/em>. Las bolas que se designaban para convertirse en <em>temari <\/em>se bordaban adem\u00e1s en varios colores de algod\u00f3n perlado, que contrastaban en color con la envoltura mari, seg\u00fan el dise\u00f1o elegido. En la mayor\u00eda de los casos (todos menos 13, 41, 61 y 73), las aristas que definen el patr\u00f3n son l\u00edneas de un patr\u00f3n de pautas temari C8 o C10, tambi\u00e9n indicadas en la tabla. class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Una vez terminadas, todas las mari y temari se barnizaron ligeramente, y todas las bolas, a partir de la segunda, se ensartaron, altern\u00e1ndolas con bolas separadoras de madera lisa mucho m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as, en los soportes de acero que sostienen los arcos. La primera bola, compartida entre los dos arcos, se a\u00f1adi\u00f3 delante, y se enganch\u00f3 en el soporte de acero montado dentro de la estructura de la P\u00e1gina de Garabatos\/Quilt. El resto del soporte de los arcos se hizo desde arriba, mediante ataduras de hilo de pescar.
