Aqu\u00ed, la superficie plana es el techo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La proyecci\u00f3n estereogr\u00e1fica conserva algunas propiedades geom\u00e9tricas mientras distorsiona otras. Por ejemplo, los \u00e1ngulos de los tri\u00e1ngulos en la esfera se conservan en la sombra (de modo que \u00e1ngulos de noventa grados en la esfera se proyectan en \u00e1ngulos de noventa grados en la sombra). Las longitudes no se conservan: las longitudes en la sombra aumentan cuanto m\u00e1s se aleja el plano de la esfera.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las matem\u00e1ticas de la proyecci\u00f3n tienen implicaciones sociales y pol\u00edticas. Las <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fresnel_lens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lentes de Fresnel<\/a> fueron desarrolladas en el sigloXIX por el f\u00edsico franc\u00e9s Augustin-Jean Fresnel; permiten fabricar lentes potentes utilizando mucho menos material refractor, lo que permite realizar f\u00edsicamente haces de luz con un enfoque mucho mayor, visibles desde mayores distancias. La lente de Fresnel ha sido denominada \u00ab<g id=\"gid_2\">el invento que salv\u00f3 un mill\u00f3n de barcos\u00bb.<\/g>  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item\"><details><summary class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__title has-background has-text-color has-primary-color\" style=\"background-color:#f4a811\">Heptagon<\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-coblocks-accordion-item__content\" style=\"border-color:#f4a811\">\n<p>Uno de los principios organizadores del Faro es el <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Heptagon\">hept\u00e1gono<\/a> regular. Imagine ahora que suelda dos tiras de metal, con una secci\u00f3n transversal en forma de \u00abT\u00bb. La tira correspondiente a la barra superior de la \u00abT\u00bb se corta de una chapa plana seg\u00fan la curvatura geod\u00e9sica de la curva original; la tira correspondiente a la l\u00ednea vertical de la \u00abT\u00bb se corta igualmente de una chapa plana, aportando la curvatura normal. Puede considerarse que el dodecaedro remite a la simetr\u00eda pentagonal presente de muchas formas en la cercana Panader\u00eda. En un camino rectil\u00edneo sobre un poliedro usted camina derecho mientras est\u00e1 sobre una cara; en cada cruce de aristas, contin\u00faa sobre la nueva cara de modo que su camino forme el mismo \u00e1ngulo a su derecha con la arista com\u00fan que el que formaba a su izquierda en la cara anterior. (Tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda imaginar la arista com\u00fan como una bisagra; si imaginara que la nueva cara se articula hasta quedar en el mismo plano que la cara anterior, pero al otro lado de la bisagra, entonces su trayectoria ser\u00eda una l\u00ednea recta sin desviaci\u00f3n). Si recorre un camino rectil\u00edneo en un s\u00f3lido plat\u00f3nico distinto del dodecaedro, partiendo de un v\u00e9rtice y pretendiendo volver a ese mismo v\u00e9rtice, siempre tocar\u00e1 otro v\u00e9rtice antes de volver al punto de partida. Jaydev Athreya, David Aulicino y Patrick Hooper mostraron ejemplos y clasificaron todas las posibles trayectorias rectas que evitan otros v\u00e9rtices.
