Je suis une artiste professionnelle depuis 23 ans. Je suis titulaire d&rsquo;une licence en art et d&rsquo;une ma\u00eetrise en comptabilit\u00e9\/finance de l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 du Missouri. Je travaille le vitrail, la peinture \u00e0 l&rsquo;huile et le pastel, le graphite, l&rsquo;acier inoxydable et je me suis mise depuis peu \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9lectronique. J&rsquo;ai con\u00e7u et peint plus de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bronnabutler.com\/projects.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">900 m\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s de vitraux<\/a> dans divers b\u00e2timents. J&rsquo;ai con\u00e7u et g\u00e9r\u00e9 la fabrication et l&rsquo;installation d&rsquo;un monument en acier inoxydable de 20 pieds de haut, comportant 4 panneaux en titane color\u00e9 orn\u00e9s de photomontages. Mes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bronnabutler.com\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">travaux actuels<\/a> portent sur les math\u00e9matiques r\u00e9cr\u00e9atives, les puzzles, les \u00e9nigmes et les illusions d&rsquo;optique, mais aussi sur les math\u00e9matiques et la science en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L&rsquo;aventure Mathemalchemy commence<\/h3>\n\n<p>\u00c0 partir de f\u00e9vrier 2020, j&rsquo;ai eu la merveilleuse opportunit\u00e9 de collaborer avec une <a href=\"https:\/\/mathemalchemy.org\/team-23-mathematicians-artists-of-mathemalchemy\/\">\u00e9quipe de 23 artistes math\u00e9maticiens et math\u00e9maticiens d&rsquo;art<\/a> qui ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 une grande installation artistique multim\u00e9dia : Math\u00e9malchemy. Elle met en avant la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 et la beaut\u00e9 des math\u00e9matiques. C&rsquo;est la vision de la math\u00e9maticienne et physicienne <a href=\"https:\/\/mathemalchemy.org\/team-23-mathematicians-artists-of-mathemalchemy\/#Ingrid-Daubechies\">Ingrid Daubechies<\/a>. Avec l&rsquo;aide de l&rsquo;artiste <a href=\"https:\/\/mathemalchemy.org\/team-23-mathematicians-artists-of-mathemalchemy\/#Dominique-Ehrmann\">Dominique Ehrmann<\/a>, Ingrid a dirig\u00e9 la collaboration autour de l&rsquo;installation pendant les dix derniers mois, via Zoom. Apr\u00e8s son ach\u00e8vement en 2021, elle sera install\u00e9e dans divers mus\u00e9es et autres lieux, puis de mani\u00e8re permanente dans le nouveau b\u00e2timent de math\u00e9matiques de l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.duke.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">universit\u00e9 Duke<\/a>, dont la construction est pr\u00e9vue. L&rsquo;installation comprend un phare en acier inoxydable de 7,5 pieds de haut, qui reposera sur une base de 2 pieds. J&rsquo;ai fabriqu\u00e9 la lanterne dod\u00e9ca\u00e9drique en vitrail.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u par la physicienne <a href=\"https:\/\/mathemalchemy.org\/team-23-mathematicians-artists-of-mathemalchemy\/#Sabetta-Matsumoto\">Sabetta Matsumoto<\/a> et sera plac\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;une des extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s de l&rsquo;installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comme un vrai phare, la lanterne dod\u00e9ca\u00e9drique sera \u00e9quip\u00e9e de lentilles de Fresnel pour focaliser la lumi\u00e8re, dans ce cas-ci provenant d&rsquo;une LED, montr\u00e9e ici sur notre \u00e9tabli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le dod\u00e9ca\u00e8dre en verre se place au-dessus des lentilles et de la pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 au groupe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quantamagazine.org\/mathematicians-report-new-discovery-about-the-dodecahedron-20200831\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">un article dans le magazine \u00ab\u00a0Quanta\u00a0\u00bb<\/a> relatant la d\u00e9couverte d&rsquo;une nouvelle propri\u00e9t\u00e9 du dod\u00e9ca\u00e8dre.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maa.org\/press\/periodicals\/american-mathematical-monthly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Le journal \u00ab\u00a0American Mathematical Monthly\u00a0\u00bb<\/a>avait publi\u00e9 la preuve des math\u00e9maticiens Jayadev Athreya et David Aulicino, qu&rsquo;il existe une trajectoire g\u00e9od\u00e9sique sur le dod\u00e9ca\u00e8dre, She has completed numerous commissioned pieces, including a twenty-foot-tall stainless-steel monument, 900 square feet of stained-glass windows, and over 140 oil and pastel paintings. In 2015 she began creating glass, mirror, and metal sculptures, as well as two-dimensional artwork, with a focus on recreational mathematics, mathematicians, physicists, and science.
